Case study
Trust built through place, people, and proof.
Overview
Baseload Power needed geothermal energy to feel real in Japan — not a climate headline, but a grounded story of place, trust, and continuity. We produced a multi-video and photo shoot in the Waita area to capture the lived reality behind development: the power plant, the landscape, and the people who experienced a shift from long-term division to shared benefit.

Challenge / Transformation / Impact
01 / Challenge
Baseload Power needed to make geothermal energy feel real in Japan, where public trust in energy infrastructure is earned through local voices, lived history, and demonstrated benefit, not policy announcements or climate headlines.
02 / Transformation
YF built a documentary-first content system anchored in place and people, with Waita as the hero narrative and two supporting regional chapters. Each location was treated as a distinct trust story, giving the broader geothermal case a human foundation across multiple communities.
03 / Impact
Baseload Power gained a credible, Japan-first content infrastructure that translates geothermal development into a story of continuity and shared local benefit. The multi-chapter system gives them a scalable asset base to build public trust across regions over time.
What we made
- Multi-day location photo and video production covering the Waita geothermal area and related sites.; - Video deliverables planned as separate story modules (Waita video, Shika Power video, Sansui video) with interview components.; - Interview capture package, including individual and multi-person interview formats.; - Visual identity / on-screen graphic asset system for consistent informational inserts across edits.; - Post-production-ready media library (high-resolution photos + cinema-grade footage) for ongoing Baseload communications.
